Volunteering with Look Good Feel Better is a unique and rewarding way to make a real difference for people living with cancer. By sharing your expertise in skincare and makeup, you’ll help boost confidence, put smiles back on faces, and create a positive, uplifting experience for our patients.
As a Skincare & Makeup Workshop Volunteer, you’ll lead interactive sessions using the products in our gift bags, guiding patients step by step through skincare and makeup techniques. Each workshop lasts around 2 hours, with an extra half hour either side for set up and pack down. You’ll have the opportunity to lead one or two sections -such as skincare, base, eyes & brows, or lip & cheek- while also assisting with the opening of products and demonstrations during the session. Hygiene is vital, so cleaning equipment like mirrors and placemats before and after the session is part of the role.

Will I be expected to know about cancer, and talk about their diagnosis?
Most of our patients want to leave cancer ‘at the door’ and do not talk about their diagnosis, but some might. We request that you do not ask them any personal questions but simply be an ear to listen if they want to talk about their feelings. During our online training we provide an overview of cancer and types of cancer treatment however we are non-medical and do not offer any advice on treatments, including supplements.
